Buried Love

Every February the friendly Lawrence Percolator art space presents an art show celebrating Love. Here’s my piece, Buried Love (about 15 inches high), inspired by this thought:

Our ancestors loved each other and without this love we would not have been born. They are gone. No one remembers them. The love they felt has gone underground. Some love is deep lava or magma: this love can erupt spontaneously and destructively. Some buried love is gold: we have to dig for it. Some love is water: it rises to the surface as clear springs, which nourish and support plants, animals and humans.
